The Spen Valley Historical Society was founded in 1972 and 2021 will be our 49th year of continuous existence.

We meet on the second Wednesday of each month, with the exception of August when we do not have a meeting. The meetings start promptly at 7:30 pm at Our Lady & St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church Hall Dewsbury Road Cleckheaton.

Our programme is currently cancelled due to the ongoing situation with Covid19, we currently do not know how long this cancellation will last but when it is safe to resume we will do so. We reviewed the situation in August and have decided that we would not be able to meet again in 2021. We are keeping this decision under review but currently our restart date will be in 2022.
