Liversedge Deeds

Liversedge Deeds 1706 -1830

These are summaries and not copies of the Copies of Indentures referring to Liversedge held at the West Yorkshire Archive, Wakefield.

Superfluous language has been omitted, for example:-

The use of “on the first part” to denote seller and the use of “on the second part” to denote purchaser has been replaced by - (to separate the two).

“his assign or assigns, undertenant or undertenants” after the purchaser has been omitted.

The summary finishes after the description of the properties involved and omits “the Indenture on behalf of …………. was attested by ………” and “witnessed by”.

I originally began looking for Indentures, which referred to Listers. Hence Lister being printed in bold type.

The numbers in brackets on some Indentures refer to the numbers on the 1804 Liversedge Survey, which I obtained from West Yorkshire Archive, Huddersfield.

I would like to thank the staff (friends) at West Yorkshire Archives, Wakefield for their help, understanding and patience. If you wish to refer to the original, which I used, just ring (Wakefield 01924 305980) and make an appointment.
